I heard in the past that their forums had a reputation for racist content, but I'd never seen any first-hand, until now. What hope has any company got of avoiding a bad reputation when the owners themselves post threads on public forums demonstrating their prejudiced attitudes? I guess this makes me a PC do-gooder.

I'm aware it's a scammer/spam email, but that's not the point of this thread. I'm interested in the fact that the owner of OcUK decided to post his questionable views on the forum.

Why did he bother posting the thread at all? Everybody has had an email like that in the past, it's nothing new. The thread title wouldn't last 5 seconds on an ethically and properly moderated forum. Then again, who's going to moderate the forum owner's thread title?

Altough I can't stop wondering who gets to say which words are politically incorrect, that has to be a very influencial department of the UN at least.

If you don't shop at OCUK then don't use their forums either, simple. I do think the thread title is inappropriate and I'm at odds in understanding why the OCUK MD posted the thread? Nothing new and everyone in that thread is licking his rusty bullethole something rotten.

I used to die by OCUK for my hardware, never had a bad experience. Only changed suppliers because I priced up my latest PC with identical kit and it was £100 cheaper on eBuyer :P.

Plus eBuyer Customer Service and RMA is awesome from my experience... [thumbup]

Bah no big deal imo it does not affect the goods they sell. I have had nothing but good luck with them, super fast delivery and when I did RMA a board it was sorted inside a week. Cannot fault them in that respect. You have to consider there are a lot of lying bastards on here who RMA everything they break themselves, then bad mouth the company when their RMA is refused. Now of course there are always the odd cases where customer service has gone wrong but then people will post about that, you rarely hear people post about good service.

IF the email was real, then using those terms is acceptable in this SINGLE case. They deserve the insult, it is not as if it is directed at every coloured person but a singular entity trying to scam a business. People need thicker skin and to get over political correctness. Now of course calling someone that name for no reason other than colour as a way of addressing them is not acceptable. Of course if the email turns out fake ( which we have no way of proving ) then it is bang out of order. Personally I feel it is just one of many they receive and he tried to put a humerous slant on it that the PC group decided to jump on.
