Eight years back today our nation was attacked and changed forever. I've lived in Ny my life and experienced firsthand the impacts that morning had on our town. When I landed employment nearer to my house on Long Island (fortunate me) I'd labored in NYC all my adult life until Jan 2001. The company I labored at for 15 years in manhattan had an attractive view from the reception section of downtown manhattan, the statue of liberty and the planet trade center. My former colleagues (my friends) were 'unfortunate' enough to make the journey to view the systems because they burned and fell. I understand air traffice was closed over the country, however in our town the bridges and roads were closed for all days. We're able to not work. We're able to not travel.
