I did so some recording at McGill business "B" around Xmas 1998. In those days in my opinion the college had two guitar teachers, Greg Clayton and Mike Rud. Greg was expected to perform on the day, but he wound up having to remain an additional day in Toronto at a program for some I am escaped by singer whose name at as soon as, and Mike came directly into sub for him. Paul turned out to be a truly fantastic participant and when he moved out here a few years later I'd the satisfaction of performing a jobs with him and that first feeling was strengthened. Apart from being fully a good artist, Mike is just a really great and exciting and entertaining man, precisely the kind of pet you would like in your part in just about any kind of playing condition. Interestingly, on that same visit to Montreal, Greg Clayton's tenor participant abruptly became unavailable for his approaching New Years show at Koji's, and he employed me to perform on that. So a chance was got by me to examine Greg private and out close up, and I feel comfortable in saying you could perform a good deal worse than to review with him ( last I heard he was still training at McGill). Greg and I acquired along like a home burning, once we are generally old college hipsters who get our esthetics from the truly amazing master-hipsters like Lenny Bruce, Joe Anscis and Herbert Huncke ( Greg is actually described as a resource in Benjamin Schafer's "The Herbert Huncke Reader").
