Their frequently been stated that the UK & the US are two nations divided by a language, (though I'd sometimes challenge the "common language" expression), however it is fascinating how our cultural differences sometimes appear in the tiniest of ways. We were having a in a restaurant yesterday and the waitress instantly took his plate away when one of our party had completed his meal. In the united kingdom this could be considered to be poor manners, once the last person has completed his/her dinner as all plates are often eliminated. Why can't servers comprehend the term "water" having a precisely obvious "t?"
