I appreciated the dialogue started by David D. about selecting a Saint's name and Fr. David's guidance about dancing with the one that brought you. While I'm certainly attracted to St. Gregory of thought, and Nyssa, consequently, I'd become "Gregory" when I'm baptized this Pascha (God willing), maybe it's better to stay with my Christian name, my middle name, Eugene. It's important to me to have an image, and to know anything about my customer, since I'm an convert" (aka "crazy convert," aka "convert"). Many St. Eugenes are martyrs, and this, in the beginning, steered me from selecting a St. Eugene, for I thought unworthy of the martyr's determination and belief. Since the St. Eugenes are mainly martyrs, it's relatively difficult to locate much in regards to the St. Eugenes and to locate symbols. Istok includes a handful of St. Eugene symbols and the POMOG and OCA websites possess the lives of the few St. Eugenes, but I'm having difficulty finding different symbols and finding out more. Ergo, I'm wanting to pull with this community's knowledge base. Where may I look for a life and/or image of St. Eugene of Alexandria (who had been Fr. Seraphim Rose's st on the planet)? Since I'm also attracted to Fr. Seraphim Eugene Rose, I'm also thinking about this St. Eugene. There's a short life on-the OCA website, but is there more? Is it feasible to locate a life-or image of new martyr Schemamonk Eugene (1939)? These saints are recognized in February, that will be also my real birth month, as-is another St. Eugene, an and confessor, whom I know nothing about. Data, short though it's, can be obtained about these St. Eugenes, but when there's more, I'd be thinking about studying it: Martyr Eugene at Trebizond Venerable Eugene and his daughter at Alexandria St Eugene the Confessor and Presbyter at Antioch Hieromartyr Eugene of Cherson Martyr Eugene of Melitene Martyr Eugene at Sebaste Peace
