Has anyone ever had any experience in the following.
Wall to be built on boundary, access to the neighbouring home is adjacent to proposed wall. Path/entry is approx 1m wide so with scaffolding, footings etc access needed to construct new wall access to existing dwelling would be compromised. What would happen/what are possible scenarios in this example. |

For sure, good relationships with neighbors are very important and cool, but not everyone does this. I think in the construction industry, you need to consult with professionals and trust them first of all. When I had a similar problem, firstly I went to the neighbors to tell them about it and ask for permission to use a small part of their territory. They turned out to be friendly and kind. Then they offered me the services of the same scaffolding masters that they had. The guys from petesuen.com did everything very carefully. Thanks to this story, we even made friends with our neighbors.

You should need very little access on their land.
You will take down the fence and put in temp fence. Then pour footings (all on your side), lay slab (all on your side) and build the boundary wall all on your side. I'm assuming it's a single storey wall and therefore no need for scaffolding. The only time you might need access from their side is if you are using a material that needs to be rendered/painted on the boundary. |
