Default Auto Show
I am supprised to see how many auto makers are getting on the "bling" wagon, even the old skool Detroit playas are blinging their whips. 24 inch chrome rims.... yeah boy, get outta my way bitch......

Why do the white people have to imitate what the black people are doing? Why can't it be turned around 180 degrees where all black people start wearing Dockers?

No problem. Now, is there a purpose to this thread or was it just made to be racist?

I entered this topic thinking it was going to be all about the New York Auto Show. (Silly, naiive Rapunzel.)

Unfortunately, HSL was a troll.

Several of his insulting posts were deleted, and he piled up infractions, eventually getting banned.

So how about those three new Chevys: the Trax, Groove and Beat?

I bet their marketers spent hundreds of man-hours coming up with those clever names.

ugh... it's just more of the same... GM seeming to market to adolescents and idiots. "Groove"? "Beat"? Like a 60 year old's idea of what the "young folks" will like.

And have you seen the Chevy Camaro concept? Looks like a cartoon. The original first-year Camaro was actually a fine design. Nicely balanced proportions, clean ... classy. The new one is an embarrassment. GM just does not get it.

The first generation Camaro was one of GM's finest designs. Ir reached a pinnacle with the Z28, a car that went against the trend of adding power with bigger block engines. If properly developed, it would have been a great road coupe today.

But GM quickly lost its way in 1970 with the 2nd Gen. The car got bigger, heavier, and ugly.

Compare the two front-ends:

I actually like the Beat.

Its a cool little pocket rocket. I don't think GM will have as hard a time transitioning from the SUV mentality back to a practical car mentality, especially if they make there cars fun, which this one atleast looks to be.

I think I like the Beat best overall, too. But that front end.. it's so overwrought that it seems like a charicature of itself, like a design someone whipped up in Photoshop that never should have left the program.

Also, it's interesting to note that all three were designed in GM's South Korea studio. Do they have one in So Cal? If not, then maybe that's why most of their work sucks.

This display makes me feel like an 8-year-old with a new set of matchboxes.

^ Hehe. There's a car dealership on the "B" green line here in Boston that's 3 stories tall and 3 bays wide, meaning there's usually about 8 cars on display (minus one for the entryway), and everytime I ride on by I think of how it looks like a toy store blown up to a massive scale. I love it!
