I tell you what i did find just as saddening was the story of the chimp in the welsh zoo asking to be let out?
Heartbreaking to see a creature with self awareness asking for help knowing its trapped?

Agreed, animals have a lot more sense and awareness than many people give them credit for - more sense, in their fashion, than many so called people.

I dont have any words, just an intense emotional response....I get more upset over animals being wronged, than humans.

Yeah I think that's normal. Probably because they're defenceless. Sickening bit of news though. What goes through some people heads in beyond me. Not fully read the artical, but I hope there's CCTV and they get caught.

So a zoo, with rare animals. I assume they are worth a lot on the black market. Where was the security, sucks for the animals but this place is a joke if people we able to go on this spree with such rare animals around. On the flip side, you say stupid stuff in threads, why can;t other do the same in yours? Just because something died does not make you thread impervious to joking, get over it.

Dito, i posted about a policeman who killed his dogs, sadly i got a lot of flack for it.
I still stand by what i said, if i see the policeman (now ex) he will get some abuse.

Makes me so angry.

Total **** bags! Being a GSD lover and owning a few dogs through the years you know how smart they are?
Very self aware and communicate better than a majority of the people i know?
That poor thing must have suffered horrificly!

As a parrot owner, the thought of someone tearing off a bird's head makes me particularly distraught because I know just how intelligent and fragile birds are. They're so easy to hurt and they're virtually self-aware. Their eyes look particularly human and it's so easy to read terror in them. What a terrible last few moments.

Ah yes, I remember that. Didn't you claim you were going to physically attack him?
