It might be who you are insuring with rather than the business as a whole. I have had 2 claims in the last 3 years and they paid out readily both times. I didn't have receipts or proof of ownership on either occasion, they just had my word for it.

Then again i do use a 'premium' company and pay slightly more for the cover.

Who are you with? My contents insurance is with Legal and General. It's a bit more expensive than you can get but I've heard good things although never had to claim.
