The guy is just a genius at making sales. Do something that catches people eye, especially that attracts kids (Kids + sweets = profit). Random people who would normally walk past see a crowd of people around someone selling candyfloss, wonder wtf, stand there watching, end up buying.

He even got internet exposure from this.

Genius.

I had an uncle who owned a cotton candy business. I remember going to visit him as a kid, and while he didn't dance to shitty music, he did do lots of tricks with flipping and spinning the candy. Warm cotton candy is amazing, I still remember how good it was...
