Are you yanks taking the hatchback as an acceptable shape of car now then?

As a shape for a daily driver car? Yes. You can have fun in a Hot Hatch, I do like them.

As a Sports Car? No.

That said, I'd love to find a WRX Wagon to replace my daily driver. Fun, AWD, lots of space for stuff if you need to carry crap.
