Default Monaco GP?
Anyone else remember they have first practice Thursday there?

Seems rain is threatening P2 now...

Forgot, Kov'n had a rather spectacularly smokey engine blow up in P1 in the tunnel

Yep, big puff o' white smoke... just like in the good ol'days...

Who's gonna win it this time is the big question I suppose. Will there be a sixth winner?

Grosjean seem to have a good chance this time, the Lotus car's look fast!

Apparently Pastor Maldonado is lucky to be racing at Monaco. At one point he was banned from the circuit "for life".

I was surprised how little was mentioned about the fire in the last thread. Do you all switch off as soon as the race is finished? I thought you were supposed to be F1 fans?

Also, I just saw what Schumacher did to Lewis at the last event. I see the guy's still a bit of a prat.

What did Schumacher do, I missed that?

Looking forward to the race. So unpredictable this year.

In practice Schumacher thought Hamilton blocked him, so he (Schumacher) drove off the circuit along an old part of the circuit and parked his car on the exit of a corner in front of Hamilton.

Well Schumacher has history of parking his car in odd places at Monaco.

If that's right, it's an extremely petulant thing to do and I would hope he's penalised for it!

A few comments about the technical side of Monaco

F1.com apparently did, their summary of practice included the words "Rain came earlier than expected in Friday's practice session". But they edited it already.

Hard to tell how things will eventuate this weekend given the rain so far.

Anyone have a follow up on the fire victims yet? Also why was Maldonado banned from Monaco?

Racing in the Renault World Series in 2005, the then 25-year-old ignored yellow flags before striking and severely injuring a marshal.

Organisers of the Monaco grand prix reacted by banning Maldonado from the street circuit for life.

Germany's Bild revealed that Maldonado's wealthy father intervened, promising to pay for the marshal's recovery and rehabilitation from a broken back.

That intervention saved Maldonado's future formula one career, as no team would hire a regular driver that cannot participate in the sport's most famous race.

Wow, yeah I can see why they would go and ban him for that.

He received a reprimand from the stewards for it: http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/2...lton-incident/

A while back there was some discussion about the tyres, some may find the Pirelli viewpoint interesting
