That is crazy fast downloads. It is rare when I can even find a server capable of handling my 43 down.

I have the ability to get 150 down and 35 up but it is $200 a month! CRAZY!

Practically every download comes down at 11-13.2mb/sec. All you need is a download manager. I use IDM.

You got me curious as to what Comcraps speeds are like now; much better than what they were before but man, 100 down is awesome! [thumbup]

Doesn't that include the speed boost?
I had Comcast before I got EPB and iirc speedboost was included in those speed. Plus they have a 250GB cap now.
Must have upgraded their speeds. Mine was about half that when I had Comcast.

I'm wanting to upgrade to the 50/50 package from EPB, but been too lazy to call.

100Mb is awesome, but I had rather take a slower download speed so that I could get a greater upload.

Sadly my best does not compare.

My connection is ranked 98% for the US. So 2% of the nation has faster internet than I do. At least among Speedtest.net tests.

But then again, look at the country average.
http://www.netindex.com/download/allcountries/

Us is ranked 30th place with 11.14mb/s compared to Korea in 1st place with 33.95mb/s average.

Just moved house recently, but the area doesn't have cable yet, so it's just ADSL2 at the moment, it'll do for now.

Korea in 1st place with 33.95mb/s average.
http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/10.08/korea.html

Has some advantages to being small. The government laid down a lot of fiber, but population density is always an advantage. 70% of the population live in cities, with the capital taking 1/4 of it.
S.K. laid down 13,670 miles of fiber compared to Verizon laying down 20,500 miles of fiber just in West Virginia.
VW = 1.9 million people
SK = 49 million people

The top 30 countries are westernized, and very small. Russia and Canada are huge nations like the USA and have fairly the same speeds. I'd only worry once Russia and Canada surpass the USA and the gap only widens.
Brazil is 68 and China is 79.

Would have been sweet if Obama made the stimulus package the fiber optic package. $880 billion to fiber optic the nation.

Well if you are really desperate, you could like at combining several internet connections together: http://www.sharedband.com/

We use them at work because we can only get ADSL1, so have bonded 2 connections to give us around 13Mbit. The above works with any internet service, but I know Be does there own version.

I pay £38.90 a month for Phone, Tivo and 30mbit (thats about $62.50 USD). I could pay £5 more for 60mbit or even more for 100mbit, but there is no point.

30mbit is more than enough.

I like how that comes with a "boost your speed by 50%" advertisement.
