Default Futuremark "Likes this" Facebook intergration for the forums?
Anyone noticed this? Oh and now it will auto edit your post with an update if you make a reply before someone has replied to your initial one.

Yeah I saw it a few days ago. I can't think of a time when I'd really want to "like" a thread? I dunno maybe its just me.

As for the update instead of new post thing, I like that.

I never saw that before. But I block all scripts from facebook, so anything relating to facebook doesn't show up for me. And I like it that way.

Social networking is a big thing. Social networking integration is a big thing. Considering this is a computing and technology related forum, the closed-minded lack of forward thinking from some people on here is pretty funny.

Some of us enjoy having a community, not a interconnected **** waving system.

They should also have a "WTF are you talking about retard?" button too. I suspect that one would be used much more frequently.

If you enjoyed anything social and / or community based you wouldn't be such an obnoxious git.

And it's funny how some people like to think their opinion is what should be the norm and anyone else is "closed minded".

In this case, he is absolutely right. Social communities were once forum based only, now this has moved on to larger communities like Facebook. A nice blend of both works well.
If you don't want to use the facebook integration, you don't have to; its not going to force you to use Facebook!

It was actually my expert opinion. You missed out the word expert.

And to say something is rubbish without yet trying it, is by very definition closed-minded.

No he isn't right. He's jumping to conclusions that just because some of us don't use facebook, we are closed minded. I have nothing against the integration of facebook or with facebook itself. Just that I don't use it and I don't bother turning on scripting so that the facebook elements show up in my browser.

Now you are making assumptions. I never said anything negative about facebook or it's integrating into the forum.

I determined early on that I have no need for Facebook. I prefer to interact with my friends in person or use live chatting software. Facebook doesn't offer any advantages over this simple interaction and I don't care about the ability to post images or to play their games.

There is a difference between a "Closed Minded" person who refuses to use a service and an "Open Minded" person who has looked at the service and determined it does not offer anything that would make the person want to use the service.

Firstly, I wasn't implying you had said anything negative about Facebook. I said "the closed-minded lack of forward thinking from some people on here is pretty funny". You responded to that and have now decided it includes you, not me.

Secondly, there have been plenty of people on here stating that they have not tried Facebook and won't on principle for me to be able to make my comments without them being assumptions.

What has actually happened here is that you have seen a new quest you can join to twist my words to fit whatever kind of stereotype you want me to fit this time. I'm all for discussing stuff, but if you go out of your way to ignore words you don't want to read then it's completely futile.

My apologize then.

I do agree with some of your statements. I do think there are people who are closed minded to the point where they simply won't try something on principle.

I only ask you give me the same courtesy and not twist my words or intentions into something they are not.

Facebook is so passé. I use the ultimate social networking site, it's called a pub.

I don't have any e-friends. I have real friends, real acquaintances and online randoms. I have seen too many stories of people turning out to be dudes, trannies, pedo's, or just nothing like what they say they are to consider anyone I haven't spent time with in the real world any kind of friend.

You know I pulled that number out of thin air, right?

The world is changing. Try and keep up. Seriously, who wouldn't welcome easier ways to keep in touch with people??

Well, I'm glad that now you've closed down R&P, everyone seems to be getting along a lot better...

Seriously, you can't blame anyone for jumping onto the Facebook bandwagon - but in the end, Facebook will just be a huge bucket of links, and people who feel the need to transmit every last thought to anyone who cares (or doesn't). As it becomes more ubiquitous, oddly it becomes less relevant.

I really can't see you being right. The internet needs at least one site that excels at something...

Google, Youtube, Amazon, Facebook....all are going nowhere.
