Default Drive - Most Overated Film In Years Or A Glorious Tour De Force? -
Have to say, watched it last night on BluRay and possibly the most dissapointed I've been with a film in years. After all the hype, all my mates telling me what a great film, all the great reviews... dull as ditch water... kinda knew what it was going for, but too much of that M. Night Shyamalan "glazed look and do nothing" type thing... must've been about 15 minutes of nothing. Was expecting alot more. The music was nice, very nicely used and the acting was passable... and the credits were very pink lol... can't give this more than a 5/10, so will be passing the BluRay on me think . Maybe I just missed the point of it all... who knows. Reminded me of early Michael Mann, bit Miami Vice... ManHunter in it's use of lighting and music... unfortunatley, that's all it was a music video...

Every film doesn't fit everyone's tastes I suppose. I've got TinTin to watch tonight... not sure about that one either but bought it anyway lol.

Watched a few other films this week... remake of The Thing... not bad, certainly one of the better remakes/prequels... Pandorium... very nice little film there... dont' think that even made it to the flicks in the UK, can't remember it anyway... nicely done... Candyman... now this is a weird one... I used to love this... YET watched it now, it's dated really badly (and the person who put this to bluray needs shooting as it's got one fo the worst HD Masters I've seen to date)... to the point that I found the acting a little poor, script poor... the storyline is still strong though and a nice ending but was dissapointed... weird how things change with time... some do some don't. It's why I won't watch ET... worried it won't be the film I watched back in 81' when I was 7 years old lol.

So, anyone enjoy Drive then?
