He's just a very miserable person who wants everyone else to be as miserable as him. Just ignore him. I rarely shave but when it comes to shaving I refer to the people at The Art of Shaving. They're opinion carries more weight than mine and clearly more than yours since you think that all razors are the same. Here, you might learn something. The Art of Shaving |

I shave my entire head and most of my face every day or every-other, and I use a combination of shavers. Mach 3 to cut through the heavier stuff and just give me a decent "you look like you shaved" shave. I use a Fusion Proglide (mach 5, basically) for when I have a date or a big presentation or something.
The Mach 3 is cheaper and does the job quite well. The Proglide is more expensive but gets a smoother shave. Note: The more blades your razor has, the less hair it likes to cut through. If you get some ridiculous 20-bladed razor, you're going to have to give your face a once-over with a Mach 3 before the 20-blade will even function. The less blades your razor has, the greater the likelihood of it butchering your face. EDIT: Also, the type of shaving cream you use has a huge impact. Try out different types, but I actually found that a good old fashioned $1 can of Barbasol works the best for me. |

I've come to realise that after years of shaving, i now have a ritual of sorts:
![]() Before starting i put my razor in a cup of hot water for a few minutes, (which is also used to clean the razor between strokes,) this makes the blades expand slightly and gives a closer shave. Then i hold a hot flannel on my face, to warm the stubble and make it softer. Next is some soap, i use Dove since it moisturises and gives very good blade glide. I then shave by following the grain of my hair, cleaning the blade in the hot water after each stroke, then go over it again, against the grain. Clean off the face in warm water, and then again in cold water, which closes the pores and cools the skin, helping to reduce razor rash. I then steal some of the wifes Vaseline Intensive Care moisturiser and slap that on, good stuff. ![]() Finally, I turn round 3 times, bow to the sun, sacrifice a goat and beat myself with a stick. The last part is optional. |

Fusion all the way for me, shave my head too and nothing else gives me a better shave with fewer cuts, one blade generally lasts me a month or 2. |

Because that link has a reason. These are the best for me and therefore everyone else. Besides, if you check the links I provided it shows that with the addition of 5 extra blades on the new Gillette Fusion 10x10 Extreme shaving utensil (yes, that's the technical name for them if you want to ask) we are close to achieving atomic distances between one blade and the other resulting in a closer shave. |
