Watchmen, buried and inception are some recent ones but older ones like matrix 1, starship troopers and the alien movies are also nice, along with a couple of others. I also love CG movies like Rango for its awesome animation quality (story was kind of meh) and most stuff from pixar or dreamworks.

I don't really know why but the last 2 batman movies has not connected with me at all, everyone I have ever met praise them like they are the best thing ever to be made but I just don't see it, I could not stand the way the joker kept smacking his lips while talking and his deep breathing made me feel like strangling someone, batmans voice sounded like he had a sore throat. I can't even remember batman begins as I was so bored I fell asleep.

Hmmm tbh the Dark knight was brilliant.... The soundtrack was awesome as was the camera work.... Admittedly the idea of a man who dresses as a bat and runs around catching criminals is a bit silly but the last 2 movies were great and the Dark knight was stunning imo in terms of the quality of the video and sound work... Also the Joker was an awesome bit of acting... If you are very cynical and have to analyse everything in terms of it is is realistic then you wouldnt enjoy it but if you jsut sit back and enjoy the film for what it is it is one of the best films I have seen in the last 5 years... Especially with good home cinema system...

I found inception pretty damn boring tbh although most of the other ones you mentioned were good.... Not sure why you didnt like the dark knight maybe you should give it another chance and watch it again.

Starship troopers lands on the silly side and does not take itself seriously while the batman films are supposed to be so deep

Hmm im not sure it is really.... do you think the harvey 2 face special effects are made to look realistic? Clearly it is a comic book type film but it has a good atmosphere and soundtrack... Starship troopers is just plain cheesy at times lol although I quite enjoyed it when I was younger

Loved the book when I was a kid - very thought provoking, for the times - hated the movie* - could have been so good except they went for the easy option.


*Well, the topless women were OK, but the wrong girl got killed off.
