Default How about an update?
How can you reconcile being a practicing Christian with homosexuality? It's not your homosexuality I am objecting to either, it's the Christianity part...

And damn, things truly are sh*t in your country when it comes to giving those in need the medication they require. What happens if these medications are required for the wellbeing of the patient or even for the safety of others.

Don't listen to Harrison, he's an idiot. If I had to sit there and listen to him, I'd hang myself, too.
Ah f**k you b*tch...this is about the level of sensitivity I get to anything I post. I thought I'd continue the tradition.

MrFun - I've had suicidal thoughts. Been with me since I got bullied throughout primary(elementary) and high school. Started having psychotic episodes about 2 years ago, ended up in hospital with a diagnosis of schitzophrenia, which is a later addition to ADD, PTSD, and Aspergers. In reality it isn't death I want, it's more a f**king break from all this stress and sh*t I go through. I want peace, happiness, maybe even a decent sleep, as I have vivid dreams every night. I'm on Valium, Prozac, Seroquel, Invega and Ativan. Still get anxious most days even with those drugs in me. So even though I may not be going through the exact same sh*t as you've been, if you need someone to talk to I know a number of groups on livejournal, and you can talk to me if you'd like too. I hope you feel better soon, just soldier on. Pray, know that you're loved by God (Jesus did die for everyone anyhow), and have an infinite source of love whenever you need it. I wish you well - MattBowron.

PS: My apologies for those who dislike Christianity.

You should never go cold-turkey off anti-depressants. Ease yourself off of them.

Going cold turkey can actually incur suicidal thoughts...

That would be so rude. I want you to get your help, but don't do anything like this. Don't even do it in a "not rude" way, because it's still rude.
Good luck. Hang in there. FIGURATIVELY, not literally.
yes sir

I've gone cold turkey on anti-depressants (among others), and agree, it's not something that you should do. (Even though it worked for me, it was just dumb luck.) It's good you have friends to support you and feel comfortable talking about your issues as well.

Best wishes Fun.

How much does the medication you're missing cost per month?

This exactly. Cold turkey is dangerous in this case, not only because of the sudden change in your brain activity - which induces your undesirable thoughts. More importantly, it can upset the balance of things in such a way that in the future you might have to take more anti-depressants to get the same results. Another danger is that you simply get stuck in this mood. This means that no amount of anti-depressants will get you back in shape. It doesn't always happen, but there's no point in risking it.

Think of your brain as consisting of three types of hormones. The three of those normally keep each other in check. The balance was probably messed up in your case to begin with. Chemical agents attempt to restore that balance. And you took an element away in an unnatural manner. The body can not adapt quickly enough and does weird things.

Ease off if you can, and go and consult your psychiatrist for the correct medication. Quickly.
That is a good way of explaining it, Zoet.

That's a good deal. I did a search on pricing and $120 is pretty close. There are different dosages, 5mg - 20mg. I'm guessing you need elephant dosage.

Have you thought of getting any job? Just to get some money, and also to keep yourself busy.

Once i learned the truth of the universe, I realized that killing yourself is a waste of time, all it does is give you temporary pain for a consistent problem. Besides one thing that always keeps me ticking along is what i call "morbid curiousity" of what will happen "next."

Also, if you are a christian, you believe in the immortality of the soul, and if you believe in the immortality of the soul, you don't want to kill yourself.
Just be active trying to survive in the enviroment of economic crisis, even if the ideal job or your dreams-ambitions look far away.
I'm not holding out for only my dream job, and nothing else. I'm applying for various types of work: clerical/office, public library, state government jobs, and even data entry jobs.

I'm thinking about getting back into adjunct teaching at a community college again. My dream job would be full-time community college teaching, but that's somewhere down the road.

Hence why he needs his meds. When he's lucid, he's a fine guy. When he's not, well, he's not such a fine guy.

This is like the pot calling the kettle a dumb****.

edit: Note that the pot is the only actual dumb**** in this scenario.

I don't have a problem living in a city in eastern Iowa - it's the fact that I'm out here in RURAL eastern Iowa still, that adds to my social isolation. I would have no problems moving back to Davenport, Iowa (part of Quad Cities area) as most of my good friends live there and I have lived there before for quite some time before I moved.
