IDEAS TO FIX THIS ARE WELCOME AND NO ONE ELSE IS. Can I vacuum out the dent with a vacuum cleaner? Or do I not understand the nature of the problem?

Try heating it up in a furnace. The aluminum will expand and the dent may go away.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT PHYSICS AP TESTS YOU TOOK BUT QUESTIONS LIKE 'WHAT COULD YOU DO TO REDUCE THE FORCE NECESSARY TO OPEN THIS HATCH AT A PARTICULAR DEPTH' TO ME IS ASKING FOR A RESPONSE OF AT LEAST 1-2 LINES IN NORMAL ENGLISH, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID TO ME, AND JUST AS IMPRACTICAL AND THEORETICAL. Also Dell no longer puts RGBLEDS on laptops

Just save all the necessary data and then smash it. Send a bill to the RNC and say it's for your local GOP whatever to get re-elected. They'll mark it as a campaign expense and you get a better laptop.
