Default Rid my familiar's mites
I know this is mainly human health talk here. However, my fur-boss, Pepper, is having an ear issue. So, indulge me if you would. He's family.
15y.o. male (neuter) kitty, generally healthy.
Two weeks from this posting: Shaking head, sratching, hiding, loss of balance. Got him to the vet. He has an infection caused by ear mites. Got some oral antibiotic and ear drops. I had to clean up his ears and administer the drops. Vet recommended Revolution for the problem.
Pepper is getting better. Balance is back, so is the orneryness.
I did some research and I don't feel comfortable applying a pesticide to my kitty that will go through the blood stream to eliminate ear mites.
Now, I am looking into alternative that are cat safe and effective. I've done lots of research and have my desk covered in notes.

Thus far, I am contemplating a mix of almond oil, olive oil, Vit. E and a few drops of GSE (grapefruit seed extract).
Healing oils to soothe, protect and suffocate adult mites, GSE because it's antibacterial, antifungal, antiparasitic and non-toxic.

If anyone has gone a natural route with success, let me know.
Also, if my post is not appropriate for this topic forum, I do appologize.
