Snow doesn't deter the laying of sod, as the ground has never frozen.

I wish I could find an older picture but, 3 years ago, there was at least 14-15 pine trees that would have been in this picture. We are almost done purging the course of hundreds of pine trees that were planted in the 50's and 60's that were hindering the health of the golf course. A bunch of our greens were ringed by them and they kept air and sun from the greens. The green you see there, like many others, is way healthier since the removal of the trees.

The only kind of trees we plant anymore are deciduous. No more ugly, grass killing pine trees.

We've had 9 all winter, 12 as of last week, and 15 starting next week. The last three holes should be playable in early April.

Unfortunately our status hasn't improved despite the extremely mild winter.

Unfortunately our status hasn't improved despite the extremely mild winter.
We bit the bullet and took out a huge loan to do the re-work in the flooded areas. The assessment to the members is not bad and I think we got a bargain for the amount of work they did.
It will still flood, but the water will get off the course quicker and won't puddle in the middle of fairways, killing the grass. Most of the course is now open and there's only three holes to go. Two of them will open tomorrow and the last will open sometime in the first week of April.

Good luck with yours.
