Shot a 98 today, usually I'm happy to break 100 on this course early in the season, but....

The driver was working well, but my damn short game really went to hell. I felt like my practice swings were ok, but when I went to hit the ball I'd stab at it and not follow through. I did this several times. It got to the point where I didn't even want to pull a wedge out of the bag.

I wasted a lot of good drives today.

I have a tournament this Sunday and have hit one bucket of balls since last August.

Well my driver decided to shit the bed yesterday for the most part. I started hooking the damn thing.

I started out the first hole, a par 4 with an eight, I took three penalty strokes. Second hole, hooked the drive out of bounds, ended up with a double bogey. Ended up with a 43 on the front nine.

On the back, 16th hole, 342 yds par 4, I hit the drive to within thirty yards of the green (so what if the fairway slopes downhill) the longest drive I ever hit.
Took out the trusty wedge and hit it twenty yards past the green. I ended up with a bogey.

I continued to shit the bed the next two holes and ended up with a 49 on the back.

When I think of all those penalties it pisses me off, I could have been in the mid 80's .
