Default Fuck TaylorMade
Played 9 today on a whim. Snapped my less-than-one-month-old Burner driver on the 3rd tee. Now to be fair I DID chunk the swing pretty bad (it was just a bad day all around--I left gopher holes all over the course; dropping my shoulder today for some reason), but come on. I've never snapped a driver before.

Good thing Golf World has a 30 day refund policy. Goodbye Burner, helllooooo HiBore XL

Don't feel bad, I snapped my Big Bertha twice, both times right at the hozel and I never hit the ground with it. To solve the problem, they put a really stiff shaft (jokes coming) on it, that worked great, but now i can't hit the fucking club.

Taylormade and most club manufactures have an additioanl warranty of a year (some are longer - powerbuilt is lifetime) and they will fix this type of shit free of charge.

Hippie, I've done the same thing, that bore through shaft made that thing suck ass.

Man I tell ya what, that club is dangerous. I took out a demo XL (9.5 loft, stiff flex) for my round today and was just creaming the everloving hell out of the ball with it. I'm sure some of the additional distance is due to the fact that it's a little less loft than I usually get (I'm a 10 loyalist in general), but good lord.

Enjoy Pinehurst, it's definitely one of the best out there. Easily amongst my top 5 favorite courses. Hopefully you'll really enjoy it.

When you say Pinehurst, most people just assume you mean Pinehurst 2.

yeah i love that club. he called me and wanted to know what i wanted and i said a new driver. mine was starting to get little nicks on the clubhead ever since i lost my cover. i am definately excited as fuck to play that place. i have no idea which ones we are playing. he said it was a surprise, but either way, i am really stoked. i hope i remember to pack my game with me.

I've played a few of the courses at Pinehurst, and by and large, the one thing you have to force yourself to do is pull off on the distance. Accuracy and shot placement are paramount there.

that is good to know and prolly good for my game. it is something that i have been doing the past few years. alot of times i just layup on par 5's unless i am extremely comfortable. i wish i could hit my 3 wood off the deck as good as i hit my driver off the tee. i imagine i would have a few more eagles to my name but i really don't. i get too juiced up and start thinking about the low score too much. i have found that when i am sitting 250-270 out, i actually do better when i just hit a pw then a sw than going for it, hoping i pure it. with trees being everywhere, it will prolly play more to my game. how are the greens out there? obviously they are prolly perfect but is there a ton of slope? what do you think they run?

It's a mix of everything. That's what makes the course so great is that it will literally test every aspect of your game because it throws absolutely everything at you. Some of the greens are pretty flat (but small), some are larger but just absolutely BRUTAL with slope. You can miss a putt by about 17 inches in distance and 3 inches on direction and, for your close effort, your next putt can be a 15 footer (or even have you reaching for your chipper again) on some of those holes.
