That's what I call hedging your bets.
I guess that's why I don't gamble. I'm a break even poker player, and if I weren't I wouldn't play. Losing real money tears me up.

His weight issues are probably related to all of the free buffets he got for pumping that kind of money through the casino.

I actually thought this was going to say that he lost 50-60 pounds.

So did I. He's not that big, I wanted to see a picture of his new gauntness.

I caught the Daly segment on 60 Minutes last night.

Poor guy's in worse shape than I thought. I had heard he'd quit drinking completely, was just chain smoking and drinking a couple dozen cokes a day.

Turns out he does those things, but is back drinking too. "Just beer" now, not Jack Daniels, which he blames for a lot of his foibles in the past.

Woe be to the alcoholic who thinks he can switch to beer from hard liquor thinking the former isn't as bad. Shit, Daly was drinking a beer during parts of the interview.

He also indicated that he blew over a million dollars gambling the day after he lost a playoff to Tiger last year in one of the PGA tour events (after missing a 3-foot putt). Holy crap. His excesses have excesses.

He is more financially sound than I knew, despite his bad habits, because he's doing well with his "grip and and rip it" merchandise and other endorsements.

But he didn't look good to me. He even stated that he didn't want to live that long because life had been too hard thus far.

You'd think a guy in his position would be happy, but he's not, at least from what I saw.

Gambling is a bad, bad addiction just like anything else.

John Daly has admitted to losing upwards of 60 mill at the casinos.

He makes Pete Rose, A-Rod, Tiger, Jordan, and Rodman all look like lightweights.
add up all these athletes, double it and you are near what Mike Tyson has lost in his life.

He just spread it around a little more.
