i thought jordan was a douchebag but i still loved watching him play. who gives a fuck if the people who are paying dollar bills to watch your every move think you are a douche bag. If he was really disliked by the public, he wouldn't be followed by 15 rows deep worth of fans on every single hole. I went to the Ryder Cup, last year, believe me, he isn't hated as much as you think. Most can understand that he is extremely competitive. So he slips and swears. Tiger swears. And I could really care less about the swearing, the thing that bothers me is his tantrums. Throwing his clubs, raking the greens with his feet and putter. Those incidents are the ones that make me dislike him. I don't think you can use the Ryder Cup to figure out if a player is loved or hated though, everyone is rooting for the either the Americans or the Europeans...not this player or that player. I also have heard the rumors that other players don't like Phil, but I've never seen anything in actual print or during an interview. I'd like to see you do better on those holes down the stretch. Last I checked, I'm not a professional golfer...or the #1 ranked player in the world. No one would expect me to do better on those holes, not me, you, the media...anybody. The media hypes Tiger so much that just about EVERYONE expects him to do better than what he did on those holes. I haven't read this whole thread, and tiger should be held to a higher standard, but damn if there hasn't been times I've been absolutely seething on the golf course. And I'm as calm, even-keeled a person as they come... outside of golf. You get me on the golf course and my personality takes a 180. Either to giddy if i'm playing well, furious if i'm playing bad.


So, as a result of this, i have more sympathy for tigers tantrums than most people.

When Tom Watson was the captain for the Ryder Cup he elected not to choose Daly because in his opinion Daly is a quitter. He always has been, but he was also never hyped anywhere near the extent that Tiger is. Tiger is a prick, and yes he is the MOST fined player on the tour, you just don't hear about it because the PGA doesn't promote it. He has been fined several times for his behavior and foul language.
