You're the Fan, I'm Phila. I just want great golf, great finishes..
just once, i would love to see all of the Big 5 within a shot of each other going into the final round. I wouldn't be able to leave my TV if that happened.

this tourney is gonna be great. too bad phil has pretty much shot himself out of the tourney already. hoping for a 67 from T-Woo today. then the tourney will really be money. Majors are just much better when he is involved and lurking. can't deny it. I think overall, Goosen is repeating. his game is perfect for this tourney.

this is tough. are you trying to say that Phil is the best right now? because based on his finishes last year, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th respectively he was the best, but like we all know, he wasn't the best player last year. it was VJ handsdown. This year, based on what has happened, it is a lot closer and i give Tiger the advantage because he has won as much as anyone, and has the only major so far.

these past few holes though are not helping my case. T-Woo is about to be +2 for the tourney.
I just think I'd rather hear about how well Vijay and Phil played last year instead of Tigers "slump" and how he is redoing his swing again. Yawn.

I think the same could have been said about Phil that year.

One could even argue that Phil's greatness is greater than Tiger's, although much less consistent, and his overall game is more exciting.

That said, I can't help but root for Tiger. I don't know why.
his overall game is more exciting because he attempts more dumb shit than tiger. i never understood why people say he has more talent than tiger. he's not as good. tiger is as good off the tee. his iron game is better. he putts better and he is the only one who has the same type of touch around the green as Phil. mentally, he is years beyond what Phil will ever be. basically, his overall game is much more solid than Phil's.

Nine people under par after yesterday. I'm going to say only 2 or 3 will be after today.
Boo-Yah, who's your daddy?

CAn someone please remove chris berman from the announcers booth? He is making me quite angry, what a joke, this fatass should not be anywhere near a golf course ESPN
I wouldn't tell you to relax if I didn't care.

Tiger has won 3 times in 12 events including the major
VJ has won 3 times in 18 events

Tiger has 4.1 million in 12 events =340,000 per tourney
VJ has 5.3 in 18 events = 295,000 per tourney

Tiger when he plays, is better, he just doesn't play nearly as much as the other players.
Give me the finishes of Mickelson, Woods, Singh and Els in the last 5 majors.

I understand your agrument, but it really doesn't fit with what I said. What'd Phil shoot on the back nine that year, 30? Tiger backed into a playoff.
you don't back into anything in golf. you get what you deserve in the game.

retief goes bogey, double and now he hits the tough spot of the course. Gore is about to double up. I can't believe that VJ and Tiger are still in it with how bad they have each putted. +3 is looking nice in the clubhouse at the end of the day.

Lets go Phil, Lets go Chris. No More Tiger.

http://www.golfweb.com/tournaments/usopen/leaderboard

Steve Jones is already (-2) through 4. Stop watering the greens now, that is rediculous.
If you are rooting against Tiger then I suppose I must root for him...

It would be nice to see ole Lefty do something this weekend...

When does he tee- off?

Tiger Woods is a great golfer, no doubt. One of the best of all time is what they pronounce him to be, well they already did that 8 years ago. Best of this generation, most likely, although this generation has a lot of golf left in them.

Thing is a lot of us are tired of having the announcers run Tiger Woods up our ass. 72 or so will make the cut. One will win. Tiger will get the coverage, win or lose. We want to watch the whole tournament, I don't need a profile of Tiger's swedish wife or a tutorial on his swing change.
Brett didn't ask for all that attention.

Watch the whole damn season. What you WANT or NEED really doesn't matter. What the sponsors need is what matters.

Or buy a ticket.

i'd like to hear about the pistons/spurs series instead of Phil jackson/Kobe and the Lakers. but the media is the media. it's not the fans that are talking about it, it is the media. they are usually way off in terms of what people really want to hear. the go towards the LA's and the NY's of the world. Face it, Tiger is the LA in terms of hype and Singh is the Detroit in terms of hype. You are always gonna hear about the sunshine before you hear about the snow.
NBA sucks ass and Stern is running it into the ground. I honestly would rather watch baseball tonight than Pistons / Spurs. How many days off between games do we have now?
