The Super Bowl is for football, silly. They're certainly not the best four tournaments in the game of golf. That's reserved for the PGA majors, and it's why all the best golfers show up for them. |

So the LPGA should not call their big touranments majors either? The same argument you use against the Champions Tour are prevalent in both senarios.

Champion's Tour used to be called the Senior Tour. They changed the name...why? So viewers wouldn't think it was just old guys hacking around?
What gets me is that they have 5 "majors". What the hell? The old duffers have Major golf tournaments? No. I don't think so. The best players at golf have major tournaments, four for the men, probably the same for the women. The players competing here are the best in the world and are playing on the toughest courses for the most money. That's why it's a major. Should the amateurs have majors too? They just make this shit up sometimes. Oh, yeah, there's one difference between the major tournaments and the regular events on the Champion's Tour: They play four rounds instead of three. Whew, quite an accomplishment. |

I have nothing agains the Senior tour, heck I like watching the old guys play. Just don't see what's "major" about their big money tournaments. One of the reasons they're making a big deal about Nicklaus playing in the British Open this week is because it'll be his last major... for all intents and purposes, whether or not he plays the Senior, err, Champions' Tour. |
