Default from 40 yards away, what does an average shot for you leave?
less than 5'?
less than 10'?
less than 15'?
less than 20'
on the green?

From 40 I just try to get it on the green, in the general area of the pin. I would say 20 feet would be reasonable.

I tried 6 shots from this distance today and 6 for 60 yards, I only got up and down on 1 from each distance. I would say the average was 15 feet from 40 and 25 from 60.

I very rarely end up with a 40 yard shot to the green, that's poor course management if you have a lot of those IMO

I notice you don't have shank / chunk into the bunker in there. That's closer to my avg.

10-15' from 40yds and the distances get closer as you more closer and stay the same back to 80yd.

My average isn't inside 15 ft, but if I'm not inside 15 ft, I'm not happy.

Kind of what I'm thinking. I have no clue what my average is.

I don't really hit many from 60. From 100-120 I'm usually within 25 feet. My iron play is by far the best part of my game. I always pick up my strokes after putting my drive into the woods. I hate that thing!

Im usually not that close for that shot usually further away but I would say on the green no problem, could be within 20 and could be around 20 but im def on the green.

Sometimes I find a way to end up further than 40 yards after that shot.

Hmm, skulling it directly across the green wasn't an option, so I guess I'll go with 5'

(okay, on the green)

Not a huge fan of that yardage, I'm usually just trying to pitch it close. It's kind of a chip and two putt for me!!!

hahaha, the funny thing is that I was playing with a guy who, from about 30 yards out, decided he was going to bump it with his 6 iron. 10 seconds later, the ball was about 40 yards away on the other side of the green. Needless to say, he was a bit angry. So angry, in fact, that he threw his club way into the air and it landed on the next teebox

if i'm 40 yards out it's because i either:
1) mis-managed a par 5 going for it in two when i should've laid up further back
2) mis-managed a short par 4 by yanking driver instead of laying it up further back
3) complete accident

that being said, with my confidence in my wedges if i were anything outside 10' i'd be sincerely angered with myself.

I don't manage my tee shots very well on par 4's (especially short par 4's) so I frequently end up with 40 yard pitches. I normally grab the 60* and take a half swing. Since I've had so much practice with this shot, I'm not really too bothered by it. I normally aim just inside the pin and try to get it to check up. Shots from 40 yards or so normally are within 15'. However, that doesn't stop me from 3 putting

I actually like this distance. When your GAIR percentage is hovering around 85% you really start to get comfy with these types of shots.

I voted for under 15' b/c that's just being honest. I can get closer a lot of the time and I can be further some of the time. I don't get intimidated by this distance at all, and I would be licking my chops if it were my 2nd shot on a par 4 or my 3rd on a par 5. However, sometimes that's what puts me in that > 15'

I said under 20' I never really thought about the proximity to the hole. I would say that I hit some inside 10 and then I hit some outside 25.
