I can see that happening for sure.

Going off of what Rusty posted - I will admit to being influenced by Harvey Penick and Bob Rotella with my opinion. Do you all consciously think "I want to get it 18 inches past the hole" when you are preparing your putt or is it just something that you do automatically?
When I am visualizing my putt, I imagine it traveling a certain speed when it arrives at the hole. In my mind, that speed is just enough for the ball to roll 6 or 8 inches by. Obviously, my imagination is not that precise, and since I'm not really visualizing MISSING the putt, its all about the speed I want the ball rolling when it hits the hole. with that speed in mind, I start figuring out how much I think the ball will break, and then finding my target line.
