Maui was great. Ended up only playing one round of golf as the family had a lot of stuff they wanted to do but it was fun. The Bermuda Grass fairways are so easy to hit from. Bermuda Greens... not my favorite. The Wailea Emerald is a fun track. Scenic and lush with good variety, great service and at $199 for both my son and me to play, quite reasonable by Maui standards.

Glad to hear you and your family had a great time. I don't think I've ever played on anything but Bermuda greens. I'm curious to play something different and compare.

I love Maui and just about every course I have played there.
I have a blast every time we go.

last time i went to maui there was a guy who delivered rental clubs right to your hotel, for a fraction of the cost what the courses charge. clubs were up to date and in good condition, i forgot his name though.

loved golfing in maui though.

Default Maui Bound
Just booked tee times for me and my son at Wailea Emerald and Old Blue Courses. First time playing with rental clubs but the cost of taking mine was nearly as much as the golf.

Fairmont Resorts provides Taylor Made clubs for free to Presidents Club Members so we are giving them a try.

You'll enjoy the Wailea courses - been a while since I've played them, but remember them to be a good balance of playability and beauty. If you have time, play the Makena courses a little more down the road. And, of course, Kapalua Plantation - a bit of a haul from you, but should be an anyone's list when visiting Maui

I have heard great things about Makena and am seriously considering it if my wife can bear to part with us for another morning and my son really wants to play Kapalua but he is 7 (very good for his age but limited distance) and I think Kapalua is more than he could handle and more than I am willing to pay for him. Wailea has good Adult Jr. specials right now and they have Callaway Jr Clubs for rent so I don't have to take his clubs either.

Played Wailea gold and emerald, Makena, and Kaanapali in February. You are in for a treat. Enjoy.
