The reason is that the way the labrum heals is that it has to adhere to the bone so the recovery is as follows:

First 4-6 weeks - no movement to let it adhere to the bone
Next 4-6 weeks - physical theraphy moves it for me
Next 4-6 weeks - I start to move it on my own

The more I think about it the more I realize that this is really going to SUCK!!!
Major bummer. Good luck with all of that.
