Default Calling all Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska Members
I know that in our Nebraska chapter there is not many people but I was thinking that if we combined the above chapters that maybe we could find a nice course that is somewhat centrally located and all meet up. There is a course in Nebraska City called Arbor Links it's a real nice course that Arnold Palmer's group developed. I think it would be fun to all get together once the snow melts. Would anyone be interested? Nebraska City is an hour from Lincoln and from Omaha it would be just shy of 2 hours from KC.

I would but my schedule is kind of a PIA, I work weekends so most of my golfing is done during the week. If we can get something together Mon.-Thurs. I would be there.

I have a couple of calls in to courses in Omaha right now for a get away, but nothing set in stone yet. Wouldn't much matter to me, the drive is the same from here and it sure looked like a nice course the times I've driven by.

I have played the course once and was not having a good day but it was a challenging course in my mind. I will always remember that round cause my uncle who has always been fairly good in my eyes ricocheted it off the top of the grain bin roof. That definitely helped my mood that day.

This is what Duey is referencing. He started this thread a while back to garner interest in individuals from the Central Plains area for a "regional" THP get together in Omaha. I think one of the courses we were trying to arrange was Quarry Oaks in Ashland, Nebraska. I'm definitely open for participating in small and/or large get together's of THP members in the area. I'm always looking for new playing partners. The more I can get out on the course, the better!

What I could see of it looked like a very tight course, with some pretty nice houses. I really couldn't see much more than that.

I hope to have word tomorrow on the courses in Omaha and we can either do two get togethers if thats what works, or decide on one or the other. Hope you get a good response.

I don't want to step on anyone's toes on this deal. I am up for as many get together's as possible. The more we play the better we should get plus it's more time away from work! I want to play Quarry Oaks I heard it's a beautiful course except that you never have a level lie. Maybe later in summer all of us could car pool down to KC area and play a different course.

I just talked briefly with the guy from Quarry Oaks and he had to check out the schedule, but also mentioned small groups were hard to plan for because they wanted room for the large outings. I told him 10 or 12 people, it would be nice to get a few more than that.

Several outings sounds good to me. I spend plenty of time in the KC area anyway.

Definitely don't need to be tied to Quarry Oaks. If they prefer larger groups, we can take our smaller group elsewhere. Also if we only have 10 to 12, basically 3 foursomes, we could just make 3 tee times at a course and not worry about all the "tournament" functions that a course provides. Just go out and have a fun round of golf with THP'ers.
