Default Client Gifts
Fourth quarter can get a bit busy for me at work so I'm trying to get things ready for the holidays now. I've ordered holiday cards and we give really yummy chocolates to a lot of the people we do business with, but some clients and vendors get a dozen personalized golf balls. In the past, I've gotten ProV1's although last year I did buy Bridgestones for some people. Any thoughts on what I should get this year? Cost is not an issue.

If you want to truly personalize the golf-balls, you would need to send them the ball they play, IMO.

PS: See signature VVVV!

My clients don't want a dozen of the ball they usually play. They want the latest and greatest - something they may or may not buy for themselves.

I see: I wouldn't care for that!

Titleist Pro V1(x) would be the safe choice, for 'greatest'. I am sure you will receive some good suggestions for 'latest' also here....

If they're out by the time you do the shopping, Taylormade Penta for "latest and greatest".

Thanks Osahar - That's right JB said they would be out soon, but I can't remember the date he mentioned.

I got some service specific (customary OOH RAH! here ), personalized smaller golf towels designed more for on green use etc from a charity tourney I was in a few years ago. I was very impressed of the company's thoughtfullness and actually caring enough to not just give me a support the troops generic gift, but with my specific branch and name/rank on it. Probably can just use any towel now that I think about it.

Putter covers? (and I am talking the nicer, magnetic or good velcro ones with good color schemes etc)

There is something about a good Titleist or Oakley nice, non-hokey/non-old school, golf visor that always appeals to me.

And if cost is truly no object, go full bore and order some personalized UnderArmour et al golf shirts.......

Also some like to wear those metal and/or magnetic golf bracelet thingy's....

Belt buckles/belts.......

Edit: Also magnetic ball marker's that clip to hat's and/or a good, sturdy divot repair tool is cool to. Still have one I was given back in 1999 by a MADD charity tourney.

I think I have the perfect solution for the current economic climate: Get some nice colored paper, and run the following off the laser-printer.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
A dozen of personalized TaylorMade Penta TP golf-balls has been reserved in your name.
Address it, sign it, stick a Christmas-stamp on it, send it, and forget about it! By the time 2010 rolls around they won't even remember they got it! Kind of like one of those 'A tree has been planted ....' or 'Name a star after someone' "Gifts"!

I think www.golfballs.com is in the South so I can order from them after 11/1. I'll call and ask them.

Does it have to be golfballs? Thanks to computer embroidery, we got our corporate logo set up for about $100. We can add it to anything for about $5/item. We've given tote bags, coolers. You can do golf towels, caps, shirts (if you know or can guess sizes), fleece vests (same), etc.

I've learned over the years that the two things clients like most are edible gifts - as long as they're yummy and golf balls.

Hey Diane, i was just out looking around and there are several really nice websites that offer REALLY nice silver ball markers that can be personalized with your clients initials. Some of them come with really cool looking presentation boxes or presentation golf balls.

As a recipient of gifts from my suppliers, I can tell you that I would much rather have a really nice accessory like a first class ball mark repair tool than another dozen golf balls. Golf balls come to me all the time routinely, so that doesn't seem special enough for good clients for Christmas.

QFT! Plus I like rocking diff styles of divot repairs and ball markers. Though I just get them for gifts and charity's I play in.
