I have rounds like that. We are suppose to have rounds like that...it's golf. Makes those better scoring rounds more special. When I play poorly I tend to laugh at my self, and still try to enjoy the moment. I know I have a better game, so that makes those poor scoring rounds ok. Sometimes with that type of attitude, I have been able to turn poor play into better play during the same round. Other times, I just grin, and bear it, figuring it is only 18 holes.
I played with some strangers up in Mesquite NV one time. They were locals, I was just traveling. I shot a 95 due to a horrible long game, and suspect putting. Plus, I had been up all night drinking free while rolling dice. Well these guys had a good laugh at my expense. Something along the lines of "big city golfers....". As it turned out I was paired up with the same gentlemen the next day. Shot a 78. This is the best one day turn around I have ever had with my game. ![]() |
