Default Stolen Club
I had my CG14 taken from the last hole I played of the day. Me and fooldog were the last people on the course and he left his wedge there as well. Whoever took it turned fooldog's wedge in and took mine home with them.

I am not surprised and almost deserve this for leaving it there. Have you guys had this happen to you?

I bought some Vokeys to replace the club.

Nope, I've never left mine, but I've turned in several.

The first year I began playing I left an 8 iron around a green. It was never turned in.

No but I would always return one if no one claimed it. The Karma b*tch is nasty when she wants to be....

Yeah, I can't imagine keeping a club that I found. I could not sleep at night if I did something like that. It was a good excuse to try something else though.

I left my 8 iron in virginia earlier this year. never left a club behind before. I noticed it wasn't in the bag when I got home in PA. I called the club to see if anyone turned it on so they could ship it to me...but no luck.

And that is how you turn lemons into lemonade!

Sorry it happened to you. I also can’t imagine keeping someone’s club and have turned in more than my fair share of nice ones.

Even the great game of golf has thieves. Some are even golf course employees.

I think it might have been an employee because they mow the greens on Sunday morning and I was the last person there Saturday evening.

I talked to the club pro about losing it and he is the one who told me about it. If an employee took it, it is definitely gone because they would have to admit stealing it because they did not turn it in when they found it. They would get fired for sure. I would not want someone to get fired for stealing my club.

I left a Titleist wedge on the green one day - it's the only club in my bag that's a man's club. The group behind us caught up so I asked and one guy had it in his bag. To be honest, I'm not sure if he would have given it back if I didn't ask.

That sucks man. I don't know who I'd be more upset with, myself, or the low life that didn't turn it into the shop. Not that it would help but that's why I put tags on all my clubs. That way IF they wanted to get in contact with me they could or the club could contact me if it's turned in.

A tip for taking two or more clubs to the green. Always place the one(s) you are not using on the green. That way when you leave the green and you look back to check, you will see it. That's what I do. Hopefully it helps.
It helps even more to lay them next to or across the flagstick. Makes it almost impossible to forget them.

I tell you why they turned mine in. Dunlop X-Wedge! I get down with the Wal-Mart stuff! Seriously though, I dont understand why you wouldnt just take both of them if you are ok with stealing one.

I'll do that and also, when I remember to take off my glove to putt, I will throw my glove over by the clubs. I TRY not to lay them across the flagstick because it's fine if it's just you, but if others in your group do it, then you have to deal with their clubs, or they have to deal with yours. I like to place them on the fringe between where we leave the green and the cart, and am trying to get in the habit of doing that instead of using the flagstick.

I play more with women than men and we tend to pick up each other's clubs whether they're on the green or fringe - just habit.

Guys do that to Diane. But when you have a bunch of clubs across the flagstick on the ground, it's a pain. Especially since most of them are mine! LOL

I forgot that you bring half your bag to the green. I'm curious - given your style of play, why don't you buy a pushcart and walk?

I agree Smalls, I see men picking up clubs for each other all the time and do so myself. To me the difference is when you lay them across the stick you are obligating someone to have to deal with them.

Same here, I lay my clubs on or near the flagstick. I always pick up others clubs if I have already holed out. It doesnt seem like too big of a deal.
