Asalaamalaykum
When reading behind the Imam, are we supposed to read Sura Fatiha whilst the Imam is reciting it too ? - for example, in both loud and silent prayers ? I can't seem to concentrate when it's being read aloud and at the same time, we're supposed to be reading it too. Is this correct ? - I thought if we're in congregation, there's no need to read the Sura ? JZK. |

for hanafi - Imam Salah is yours. Not required to recite when you are behind the Imam. "When you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) return it equally. Certainly, Allâh is Ever a Careful Account Taker of all things." (4:86) |

Asalaamalaykum Surah Fatiha was given only to the prophet s.a.w and none of the prior prophets. Thus all the previous prophet's did not know surah Fatiha. However, upon the night of Meraj the prophet s.a.w lead the prayer for all the prophet s.a.w happen to be @ night which means it was bieng prayed aloud. It becomes obvious that all the prior prophets were not reciting surah Fatiha behind the prophet s.a.w as they knew not yet thier salah stand valid. Does that make sense to you brother ? |
