Default Hubbe eemani
The basic objective of 'Shariat' and 'Tareeqat' is to gain the love of Allah swt.
One thing to be understood here is,that love can be of two types
1.Hubb e Nafsani, that is a property or attribute of Nafs
2.Hubbard e Aqli, which is based on logic, and therefore an attribute of brain
The first type is also called alternatively as 'Ishq' to denote it's intensity. In sulook who travel this psth is called "RAHE WILAYAT" (The path of wilayat). This path is also called QURB BINNAWAFIL.The second type or Hubbe Aqli is alternatively described as 'Hubbe eemani',and those salikeen, who are destined to travel this path are said to be on "RAHE NABUWWAT"(The path of Nabuwwat)..Another term used for this path is QURB BIL FARAEDH
This obviously does not mean that salikeen of Rahe Nabuwwat in any sense becomes Nabi in the end,Nauoozo billah, rather it means that the path of such salikeen is more identical with the path of anmbiya. In other words, salikeen of Rahe wilayat are more likely to benefit from the reflections of the lights of wilayat, while salikeen of Rahe Nabuwwat are more likely to benefit from the the 'Kamalat' of Anmbiya. Please note, there is no question of superiority or inferiority of one path over the other,Allah swt chooses what he does with his Ibad.

"Hubb" or "Intense love, described as ISHQ" is actually the uneasy feeling which is created inside the Batin, when one is away from the beloved, the goal of which is closeness to the beloved, the closer the better, and the end point of which is FANA,meaning lose of conscious awareness of self, because of over indulgence in the beloved. This state is variously described as "FANA E ILMI".The abode of this perception is QALB.As an analogy,we can give the example of thirst, those who have experienced it ,specially for long durations of time, knows well how all the inner and outer senses focus on how to get water, how their chest, throat and stomach burns, how their lips becomes dry etc,in such a state if they find water and start drinking it,their Batin feels such peace and a kind of unity with water, which can loosely be called FANA.( This example may kindly be remembered as it will give the attitude of salikeen of Rahe Nabuwwat too,in later sections.)
In light of the above description,we can define "Rahe wilayat" as the one which begins with 'Hubbe ishqi or hub be nafsani and ends at 'Marifat',because of which, the wujood of matter appears non existent in comparison to Zate Haqq.( Just like when the Sun dawns, the stars disappears, though still present.)

In the second case, let us remind ourself that when a person comes to know the benefits of a certain thing or act.he becomes desperate to achieve it,specially when he knows he is in dire need of such a thing. He spends all his time, efforts, mental and physical faculties to grasp the thing in question. He spares no efforts, sacrifice all and every thing which is dear to him,but will never give up his goal. The abode of this kind of love is "AQL",but later it affects all the inner senses.
Similarly when a salik knows that he is in desperate need to get the pleasure of Allah swt and success in Akhera, that he needs Allah,s help in all his deeds, acts and needs, that he have no one else to turn to,that it is Allah swt who is providing him with all the blessings.....then a kind of intense love mixed with the same degree of 'Tazeem',thankfulness,......and indeed a degree of fear, because of the "Samadiyyat" of Allah swt.(The one who can grant, can take it away any time!)
in summary,in this case, the basis of love is the knowledge of indispensibilty of beloved, his benefits and his kamalat. Also the knowledge that all humanity is in dire need of his blessings.
As in the analogy of water in previous section,I will repeat the same example here, but with a difference. In this case the 'love' of water is not because of thirst, but because of the knowledge of the benefits of water, like that of an agriculturist or farmer, who have a 'logical love' of water,as they know how much they need water for their daily livelihood, they know their farms is providing them food and money, which totally depends on water,as a result,we know how much effort they put in the availability of water....canals,wells,prayers for rain, and what not......,!
They put their intentions, their mind, their physical efforts all into it.This is called "Hubbe Aqli" of water.
So in "Rahe Nabuwwat", the beginng is 'hubbe aqli' or 'Hubbe eemani', and the goal is "Faiz from Kamalate Nabuwwat"--(Not Nabuwwat in any sense of this word).
The end point of Rahe Nabuwwat is Fanae IRADAH or uboodiyyat.

Tareeqa Wilayat:
The usual method of creating the love of Allah swt in QALB is Zikr and Fikr, though the azkar which are helpful for TAREEQ e wilayat might be different than the ones useful to salikeen of TAREEQ e Nabuwwat. The isme Mubarak 'ALLAH',which is isme Zat is a tajalli (Reflection) of the Zat in Alame Alfaz, when practiced (according to the methods prescribed by Sufia, weather jahri or sirri, weather recited alone or combined with Nafi Asbat or Asmae Sifati),with continuity, leads to the plantation of the meaning behind the Ism,in QALB of salik....which as is said earlier,is a tajalli of Zat,which is the most lateef, the most high and closest to the Zat.When this abstract Tajalli is firmly implanted in salik,s mind, and his mind becomes firmly concentrated on this tajalli and *all his perceptions are occupied with this tajalli.....this state is called FIKR.
When salik,s Batin becomes coloured with this tajalli, his Rooh becomes the final abode of it,which then experience an attraction towards Alame amr, which is it's place of origin. On the other hand,it's relation with physical body tries to keep it in it's limits, this affects the Astral body (nasimma,Roohe hewani,Roohe tabi) making it full of an uneasy turmoil and ecstatic state-----called Wajd. This state keeps increasing till the curtain of physical limitations explodes and is removed.
1.Tareeqa wilayat is closely associated with RIAZATE NAFS,like less eating, less sleep, less talk, and not socialising.
2.Similarly such Salikeen are affected in many ways by beauty in any form, like nice voice, pretty faces, poetry and stories full of love.
3.Also such Salikeen avoid heavy food, excessive sleep, excessive sexual involvement etc.
4.One factor which must be noted, that the objective of Sulooke wilayat per se is to remove the curtains of human restrictions and limitations,to obey any Law or rules per se is not in the nature of this kind of sulook. This does not mean that they like to be free of sharia too....for from it,their trade Mark is excessive indulgence in nawafil.what is meant here is that per se the goal is only to be free of restrictions to reach Allah swt.
5.Similarly such salikeen tries to keep away from civic life, hate to accept any responsibilities, even the necessary huqooq ul ibad, although they try to attend to such duties, but not with ease.It scatters their concentration, which is against their objective of abstract tawajjo ilallah.
6.One point, which differentiate them is their intense personal love of SHAIKH,not because he is a means to guide him to Allah, but because he loves his person. The salik of this path is attached to his SHAIKH with unusual intensity.
7.Such salikeen will try to keep their distance with any thing which requires strict adherence to rules, regulations or discipline.
8.There is a nisbat between Zahir and Batin of sharia,Salikeen of Rahe wilayat are usually unaware of it.(Pls refer to 'Hujjatullahel baligha' by shah waliullah ra).
Ultimately the intensity of Ishq brings them closer to Allah swt, their uneasy jazb is replaced by peace and sakina of 'Qurb' and 'Maiyyat'.They, then cross into the fields of FANA.
FANA here can be partially explained with an analogy:
"We put an iron rod into fire for a considerable amount of time, till the rod becomes hot and red.Obviously all the characteristics of fire apply to that rod,in a way you can say that the iron rod has become 'Fire' but it is stating the obvious that in effect it has not.It is still an iron rod which has absorbed fire to the extent that at that particular moment it can be described as fire. The reality of objects don,t change.
In short,if the Iron rod could speak,it would certainly have claimed to be made of fire, and would have forgotten it's separate existence for a while."
Similarly the nafs of salik is attracted by the jazb of Rahman, and the waves from the sea of 'Ahadiyat' drags him to the deep waters of marifa, and he becomes like what a hadeeth Qudsi says:" Kunto samahullazi yasmao bihi wa basara hullazi yubsiro bihi,wa yadahullati yabtisho biha".
What a great blessing this salik of Rahe wilayat receives for his efforts, beidhnillah, and what high station was destined for this piece of earth,

RAHE NABUWWAT:
1.Out of a few things which comes naturally to humans, unless he has destroyed his nature,is to love and respect the one who has benefited him in any way.to give an example,if a king takes a man as his personal servant, give him honour, wealth, clothes, food,a degree of authority and because of his kindness keeps giving him more and more every moment........and the servant finds himself heavily indebted to him,but can not repay the king in kind because that is out of his stature, naturally his heart will be so full of gratitude, love and respect for the king, that he will be ready to sacrifice every thing, even his life, his children, his loved one for the sake of the king. This is the least he is expected to do.And not only this, when he knows that the king was as kind to his mother and father....and his grand father....then these sentiments of gratitude will grow even further.
The poor servant will obviously try to show his gratitude in whatever way he can.he will count himself amongst the faithfuls to his master,he will always be on the side of his master in comparison to others,he will spare no effort to keep his master happy,to show his thankfulness not only by constantly praising his master, but use his body and his wealth(which is the property of his master anyway) in deeds which pleases his master. He will love any thing which is favourite of his master, and hate every thing disliked by his master. He will consider it an honour for himself to be an obedient servant of his master,he will always keep his head down in front of him,and make haste to be the first to obey his orders.
In short,a nice person will always have a nisbat with the master who has been so kind to him, which can only be described as intense love mixed with tazeem coupled with perception of one,s own inadequacy to repay in anyway, hence extreme degree of self annihilation in front of him.Not only this, this tazeem and love will extend to any thing associated with the master....his name, his clothes, his words, his house, even to other servants who belong to his master. To go one step further,he will respect even those services which he was given a chance to perform for his master, not because 'he' has done it,but because these were done 'for' his master.
2.It is also natural, that those who spends his wealth on poor....and even not so poor...is loved by man,A ' Fayyaz' and 'Jawwad' person is loved by all,and who can be better in these properties than Allah swt.
3.Respect of AL-SAMAD is essential component of human nature.SAMAD is the one who himself does not need any help from any one but all others are in need of him in every respect.Allah swt has all the aspects of Samadiyyat. That He does not need to eat, sleep and drink is one aspect; He does not need time, space, direction etc is another aspect; He does not need Helpers, secretaries, advisers etc is another aspect; etc etc.On the other hand the fact that all others are dependent on him is also more than obvious,to call on him when in difficulties is one aspect of it; Giving Rizq, raboobiyyt, creation and sustenance, are all only a few of the manifestations in which every one depends on him.In comparison to every act of Samadiyyat ,there is a similar degree of Abadiyyat on our side. The greater the Samadiyyat of Allah swt,the greater our need towards him and our dependence on him.
4.Respect of the one who has all the 'Kamalat' is also human nature, and who can have more kamal than Allah swt ?
In short when one thinks about the bounties Allah swt has been, and still is ,showering upon him,and he also realises that Allah swt,who has granted him the best in the form of existance, life, body and all the necessary requirements,is on the highest pedestal of 'Samadiyyat'.......and he himself is on the lowest degree of needfulness, being dependent on Allah swt for every thing all the time, even in his own body,in in his breathing......and still he finds Allah swt showering his blessings upon him day and night.....and then he thinks about the 'Signs' of his Rabb spread across afaq and anfus.....then naturally a very great degree of love and tazeem fills his chest for Allah swt, which requires that he spend his life, his family, his belongings in the path of Allah. It also requires that words of respect and love and Hamd should come out of his mouth....and acts of humbleness like ruko and sujood should express from his being.Tasbeeh, takbeer and tahleel ( in particular) should come out of his mouth, and Kalam of Allah swt should become his natural wazifa. When this happens, the taste of these azkar in general and Quran in particular, fills his QALB and mind. The pleasure and baraka of these award, the meaning and words of Quran, makes his senses full of noor, focus his scattered thoughts, cleans his chest from any intentions of sin and disobedience, and scratch any love and respect for other than Allah from his QALB.This is called ZIKRE EEMANI,which is like food for salikeen of Rahe Nabuwwat.
This cycle of love and tazeem for Allah. Swt,which increases the effects of muraqebae Samadiyyat further, which again increases the award and acts of Ahadiyyat on part of salik continues, till the meaning of LA ILAHA ILLALLAH becomes clear to the salik.Ultimately a stage comes, which can not be described other than ,like salt mixing in water. The salik reaches a stage that wherever he looks, weather in afaq or in Anfus,he finds the ayat of AZMAT AND BLESSINGS of Allah swt,and by share BASEERAT he knows that even if he sacrificed his body in minute pieces for the sake of Allah swt,he will not be able to repay even one nemat of his Rabb.Whenever he takes the name of Allah swt,his Batin and Zahir quivers like a small branch of a tree in front of *a breeze, and every cell of his body becomes aware of his own nothingness in front of the Azmat and Samadiyyat of Allah swt. Thus a renewed love and respect for Allah swt springs out from the depths of his heart. This is called HUBBE EEMANI OR HUBBE AQLI.
Some characteristics of Salikeene Rahe Nabuwwat:
1.ittebae sharia to the fullest
2.Extreme attachement to Sunna and avoidance of Bida
3.Tazeem of sharia
4. Not considering opposition from people,in matters of sharia.
5. Considering sacrifice of his life, property, wealth as nothing in comparison to obeying the orders of Allah swt.
6.Giving preference to the will of Allah over desires of nafs.
7.Excessive effort in 'Amar bil Maroof and nahi ANEL munkir
8.no desire for things like FANA and baqa,or kashaf etc
9.Etemad *ala tarbiyyatellah.
10.No inclination towards excessive riyazat.
11.Finding great pleasure in dua and munajat
12.Giving preference to the benefits of others over his own takmeel
