![]() Hi, I am new to the forum. Just joined now actually. Hope you are all in good health, inshAllah. Since getting married, i had recently started practising, although i was born a muslim (if that makes sense) but there is so much more that i don't know already. I had a friend who is willing to convert/revert to islam and she seems to be very keen on addressing it. She is already covering up and learning about things, alhamdulillah, although she hasn't done her Shahadah yet. How does this work? Does she have to be sufficient in more knowledge and practise before she can say them ? ![]() |

Once you are convinced, you should take shahada, but it's up to the individual to know when they are convinced. It is better to be a somewhat ignorant muslim who might do some things wrong than to be a knowledgeable non-muslim. Of course, there's a good chance they are already a muslim in their heart, and have accepted the shahada even if they haven't officially said it in public.
I studied Islam for 7 months before I went to a mosque and converted. Yet I had said the shahada to myself and already started praying months before (actually, I remember I had purchased this container of BBQ pulled pork for sandwiches. If you never had pork, it's tasty! And one day I brought it out to make one, and I looked at it and went "Oh...wait. That's pork." THen I tossed it in the trash. Haven't had any pork since (though I miss it! especially ham and pork chops!)). |
