Default How do you publish islamic books ?
I am looking for a book publisher or printing house

I've written 4 books over 9 months in English and would like to see them published for the benefit of the ummah

1 Imam Ibn Jazari
2 Imam Shaatibi
3 Defending the Quran and the 10 recantations against the orientalist
4 The Quranist in the light of the Quran and the sunnah

How do i go about this , also this is completely feesabillah for the benefit of the ummah but i want islamic book shops and publishers to flourish as well.

You need to contact a publishing house who will be willing to publish your books.

Here is one http://www.turath.co.uk/

You can get lots more by just typing in Islamic book Publisher in google.

You might want to contact White Thread Press which is run by Mufti Abdur-Rahman ib Yusuf - I know nothing about this but I think they will probably just look at your Word files and decide whether or not they want to publish it. Rinse and repeat with every publisher. Another one you may want to look at is Azhar Academy.

oh sorry. In that case I don't know, but the best thing to do would probably be do what insuffiecent says, just contact the publishers, tell them what you have to offer, set your conditions and see how it goes. Hopefully you will find atleast one publisher you can work with.

Maybe brother Daywalker can help as I think he has links to Mufti Abdur-Rahman..

If I were you, I would just send a letter along with a printed manuscript of just 1 or 2 chapters of one book and photocopies of your ijazas. Mention that you are not expecting any profits from the book and that, if it is deemed good enough by the publisher, you just want to get them 'out there' for the benefit of the Ummah. Mention you have other books written and waiting to be published aswell.

A lot of times insider knowledge can easily be replaced by a bit of daring naivety I am reminded of a small (3-person) company called Introversion, who got their first computer game into shops by walking into HMV and talking to the guy behind the counter, and things led on from there...

The other option is self-publishing which you can do quite easily and cheaply on the Internet, but then you will have to deal with the headache of distribution yourself, and the quality will not be as good.

Many of Ijazas are handwritten so this would mean that due to dessert climate and humidity they dont look too nice .

also the issue is that i don''t want my work to be edited in anyway meaning i don''t want to people to slice or add stuff to my work

This is very relevant to me because I know of a person who has compiled a book and it has been sitting on their computer for over 3 years now. It would be of great benefit if it were published. What is the exact procedure for it to be published?
