I have joined this message board because of the mind boggling lack of data on the carbohydrate content found in medicinal herbs-- no matter how I express it using a search engine, I automatically get a huge searchresult payload of data on culinary herbs. Other really annoying searchclutter includes information on herbs used for dieting (not what I was asking about, idiotic search engine!) and vague discussions about nutritional content (yes I know slippery elm is used as both food and medicine-- I was trying to find out how many carbs it had in it, idiotic search engine) and other extremely useless information.
Search results that pull up message board results are somewhat helpful, but not terribly specific to the exact herb I am enquiring about. The FDA's database will allow me to find good results for some herbs (borrage has 17 grams of carbohydrates) but treats others like they don't exist (really? you are the official website of the USDA and "slipper elm" might as well be "garmonbozia"?) Am I bleeping insane here? surely in all the wide world I am not the only practitioner of herbal medicine who has ever gone on a diet and really, really needs to know the carb content of herbs other than black pepper or oregano! |

Coz, go here http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=131 and look around. You might even join and ask in that forum.
