Technically, it measures the concentration of ketones in your urine.
The majority of ketones are produced by the conversion of fat into sugars or ketosis However, it is not a particularly accurate measure. Other things eg level of hydration, level of exercise, type of fats consumed, and individual liver metabolism affect the ketone concentration. Thus the ketone strips are an indirect measure of ketosis. The general consensus is they are not worth using. |

Well I was loosing pounds in the first 10 days (7 1/2 ) but I seem to have stopped, I do feel smaller roung the waist but the scales say otherwise. I am not panicking though as I have been doing some running in preperation for a 10k on sunday, I am maybe building muscle instead. I might try the sticks if I don't loose for another week just as a guide to see what is going on. Not getting upset about it as I am on this eating plan for as long as it takes. I have found it suprisingly easy going, bar from the first 3 days of headaches. I am never hungry so do not overeat, why didn't I do this ages ago!!!
