White wine! I love New Zealand Marlborough sauvignon blanc. Okay... that's this month. It changes. LOL Ice cream used to be my downfall.
Re: wine... I measure it out and sip it very slowly. 4 oz is not a lot, but I make it last. Oh... and yes, alcohol is metabolized first. It's a poison so it needs to be metabolized before anything else. As long as you have alcohol in your system you will not be using fat (or anything else) for energy. Alcohol has 7 calories per gram.
