Default Pimms and lemonade
Does anyone know how many carbs are in a half pint serving of Pimms and lemonade? I have looked on a number of sites and the answer ranges from 8g to 26g!! I'm hoping it's closer to 8!!

Thanks

Well that depends surely on the proportions of Pimms to lemonade and whether or not you use low calorie lemonade?

I just looked online and found this:

Pimm's #1 25ml = 5 carbs

How much did you drink? How much lemonade? What kind of lemonade?

I was good and didn't have any as I wasn't sure of the carb content!

I think its normally a 50ml measure, so 10 carbs? Plus lemonade? 1 part Pimms plus 3 parts lemonade. I am guessing swapping lemonade for diet lemonade would be a lower carb option!?

I'm guessing lemonade would be 14 carbs per 200ml? I can't find how many are in diet lemonade though...

Sugar free diet lemonade, made from a powdered mix, has 1 to 2 grams carb per serving. So a drink made with sf lemonade and 50ml Pimm's #1 would be about 12 g carb. This is definitely a maintenance item. You simply don't have that many to spend on alcohol if you're doing Atkins Induction or OWL. You might consider a lower carb drink (something not made with a sweetened liquor) if you're doing to drink something anyway.

Don't use regular lemonade! One serving (depends on brand), 237 ml (the amount I checked, 8 oz here) is between 25 and 31 g carb!!!

If you used 50ml Pimm's (10g) and 1 serving lemonade (237ml) you'd have somewhere between 35 and 41 grams carbohydrate. Good thing you didn't drink it!!!

Hi! I am not in the induction phase, I have been low-carbing since early January and have 7lbs until my target weight (having lost 26lbs so far).

I was just wondering if a glass of Pimms and lemonade (obviously diet after seeing the carb difference in your previous post) would be okay to have at a BBQ where my meal consists of meat and salad.

I think the Pimms yesterday was with normal lemonade, so would have gone well over my carb allowance. Just out of interest, how many carbs should I be aiming for at this stage? I know its 20g for initial phase.

Thanks

At this point, if you've been following Atkins you should be in Phase 3, Pre-Maintenance. You've totally skipped Phase 2 if you're still in P1/Induction. At this point you should have been slowing adding carbs back in... gently and slowing increasing until you reached the point where you stopped losing. Then you would have backed off by 5 grams to restart weight loss. It takes weeks/months to figure out your critical carb level for maintenance. It's completely and totally an individual process and number. No one but you can figure it out... I suggest you read up on OWL and Maintenance asap.

I haven't been following Atkins, just a low carb diet, avoiding high carbs foods like breads, pasta, potatoes etc and sugars.

I believe you have read my blog before ( http://lowcarbdieter.blogspot.com ) as I posted on this forum before with regards to a constipation issue (which is all back to normal down). You said that I was having about 50g or carbs a day I think.

I guess its trial and error then as I am still losing 1-2lbs a week at the moment.
