I weighed 283 pounds and went on the South Beach diet. A year later I was sitting at 193. Most of that weight came off in the first 6 months. I hit 193 and still wanted to lose another 20 pounds but kind of winded down to a loose phase 3. Since then, I have gained a little weight back and I am now up to about 216! I decided to drop another 40 pounds and put myself back on phase 1. I spent about 2 weeks eating regular carbs to kind of shock my system and then the next 3 weeks on phase 1. Unfortunately, I didn't lose an ounce!! Can anyone make any recommendations?

Phase One never works as well the second time around... you're older, some of the weight you lost was muscle and all of what you gained back was fat so the ratio is worse, you've got old habits in the way, etc etc. I'm not saying it can't be done, just that it never works the same twice.
If you're willing, post your menu for a couple of days and I'll take a look at it. I'm also going to PM you a link to a South Beach forum that's all about SB. This one is "low carb" more than SB. Check it out. You might find it more to your needs... and the people are just as friendly there as they are here!!! ![]() Tril |
