Default Atkins vs SBD
hello everybody! My name is Angie.
I am new to the Atkins forum..and of course to Atkins...well I actually a semi Atkins/SBD newbie
Before starting Atkins, I went to the library with the mission of finding the diet that will work for me and to make a well informed decision before starting. I read both books..and decided that I will do Atkins for the quick weight loss/ induction and to wean myself of carbs. I was a mess..the first couple of days were a mix between the two diets..I decided that I might just have to survive the first phase with limited weight loss and more of a detox mentality. It worked! I am now officially on Atkins induction, no cravings! That is a miracle in itself..but I will follow the SBD after I lose the weight and maintain with SBD. I know now what is the underlying issue with MY weight gain...emotional eating!
I found the Atkins book great! I found out a lot about myself and my eating habits...very useful. (The SBD was also motivating, but didnt seem to be structured and detailed enough about the CAUSE and medical background of obesity/being overweight.)
Just a note, I had lost weight with the low-fat/increased carb diets before. I pretty much would call it a vegetable diet with some lean meat, it did work, but I deprived myself of pretty much all carbs (ok what I thought to be bad carbs, nuddles, rice, occasional muffin) that I was literally gorging on them..Needless to say, I am back to square 1.....

we will conquer all!!!!
