This will probably sound stupid if you have never heard of it, but starting tonight it is going to be my main source of exersize (I'm nearing the end of induction and was a little slow to get started on the whole workout thing).

There is a game for Playstation, Playstation 2, and soon Xbox called Dance Dance Revolution (there are many versions, I just linked to the newest one - older ones would be cheaper, also, if you didn't need a pad to get started with, you could get the game new for $39). Basically, you dance on a set of soft plastic pads according to what the arrows tell you to do onscreen. Let me tell you, this game can be absolutely exhausting - especially as you move up in difficulty. Even in the beginning though it will serve as a good workout if done for a half an hour.

If you want to know more about this game just let me know, and I'll post some more info. It even has a function to keep track of your workout statistics! But the best part of all... it's fun!

That sounds like so much fun! How much are the Playstation 2 games? I am not really into video games at all, but my bf is. Although, I think he think I was crazy if I brought that home! I am having a hard time getting motivated to exercise...maybe this would be a fun way to do it!

New games will run you approx 50 bucks, while you can get used older ones for as little as 10.

If you follow my link in the third post it'll point you in a starting direction, although you'd probably do better if you watched ebay for awhile.

I really love that game. It takes the feeling away of working out being a "chore" that you have to do everyday.

Nothing beats playing a video game with friends and counting that as your workout for the day.

Walking is very good for you for cardio, so perhaps you should get a weight set for home for strength training.. Personally, I like videos - even for weight workouts - because I tend to do much more than I would do on my own. Most videos are probably geared more for women, tho (even tho they have men in them).

Default best at home exercise
I know that I would see better results if I did more exercise, but with my job and it's long hours and crazy commute I'm lucky if I have time to even think about exercise. I want sleep. I tried the whole gym thing in the past and found #1 If it's not close by and convenient and open around the clock
I just don't go. #2 I'm not really the gym type. I found it to be a strange enviorment full of "look at me people". And I never got very good advise, so I was always making up my own routine as I went. So this leaves me with at home exercise. I do walk a bit, but need to find a better workout.
I know it becomes individual preference, but what works best guys.
weights, treadmill, videos, exercise bike (I don't like em), sex, nordic trac,
????????
