Funny how at 4:45am your life can seem so redirected. Looking back at where I was 5-10 years ago and where I am now, wow. What a difference.
My life has a plan. I am more focused, happier, healthier, motivated and best of all find that while I used to use food for everything (hunger, self gratification, stress relief, comfort, soothing methods, etc.) that part of my life is pretty much gone. When I would get upset, I would eat. When I would have a stressful day, I would head to the kitchen. Old habits die hard. But they CAN die if you want them to! I just celebrated birthday #46. Tough number for me to even put down on here. That day would have been filled with snacks, ice cream, cake, soda or coffee, etc. Instead, it consisted of lc ice cream with a small cake for the kids. Water no soda/coffee. Lots of smiles. I am proud of me. Today is a very busy day at work and we are hosting our 1st annual HIV/AIDS leadership education evening. I have been working on this now for over a month. Lots of prep work to handle, delegate and coordinate. No cheats. No binges....and when I feel the levels rising what have I done? I get on my Tony Little Gazelle and burn it off! I just wanted to share. Thanks for listening.... ![]() |

Happy Belated Birthday to you! What wonderful work you are doing - every day. Facing this incredible monster that is destroying people all over the world. You are a good person. Good luck on the HIV/AIDS leadership meeting - am sure you will do well!
Well, 46 hu? I am turning 48 this Saturday. Feeling a little low about it - my daughters seem to be growing, but I thought I was standing still. But I'm not. Then this morning I heard Jack's stepmom, whom we are very very close to, is suffering from effects of medication she takes for Parkinsons. It's either the Parkinsons or having to suffer the effect of the cure. Gosh. Gotta go see her today on my lunch break. Good post on life changing. It does you know - keep changing, whether we it to or not, and nothing we do can stop it ---- but we can direct it's course. That's what your post reminds me. We CAN make all the little changes that redirect our lives. Sort of like your work -- little adjustments, changes and people can live a better life than they thought they could! Thanks for your sunshine today, cindee. Love ya, M~ |

Happy Birthday, Sunnee and NL. We are all just getting better!
![]() I understand about the life changes. I have had more in the last year (last 3 months!!!) then in quite a while, many of them not so good. But I know that I am handling them far better than I would have before and so am glad everyday that I made the change and decided to try Atkins again. And just when I was trying not to feel stressed and low, a little angel told a colleague that I work with to tell me I looked good and he could tell that Atkins was working great for me. Just the little unexpected pick me up that I needed. ![]() Tonight I can finally get back on my pilates machine again now that my stomach muscles aren't so sore. That's really a work out! The other day my fiance was making me laugh and each laugh was punctuated with an "ouch" which of course made us laugh all the harder. ![]() |
