Default Lice
This girl at work who is also my friend has lice.

She had it a few weeks ago, and thought she had gotten rid of it, but it's back!!!!!

She has me paranoid! How do you know if you have it? I have google imaged the shit, but all I can find is the worst case scenarios.

I'm sure some of yall are going to say "you will know," but she didn't! She went to the dermatologist for dandruff and he told her she had lice!!!

She will get stressed because of the itchiness. Tell her to wash her hair with the liquid soap that you use for the dishes. Also salt if she can take it

They tend to migrate to the nape of your neck, so you'll get really itchy there. If you have someone you are really close to, you can ask them to look at your scalp, and the actual strands of hair. If they pull a white thing out, put it on your fingernail. If it stays still, it's a dandruff. If it starts running around on your nail, it's a louse. I had it when I was about 10- I'd stayed the night with a friend and apparently their house was INFESTED! So nasty, and really embarrassing until my parents explained it had nothing to do with hygiene.

Neutrogena T-Gel is a really good shampoo to use if you have them. You'll still have to use Rid-X and that little comb though to scrape the lice and eggs out. And wash all your laundry on high heat.

Also, if they see what they think is dandruff and it won't come off the hair, then it's a egg casing. Tea tree oil is supposed to work wonders.

I've used these on PBBB w/great success.

http://www.nitmix.com/

Yeah, an itchy head is the first symptom.

What I like about the nitmix products (outside of being all natural) is you can get their geranium oil and use that mixed w/water as a spray. Preventative!!!

I remember when I was 7 and caught lice from a girl at school. My mum sat there for hours combing my hair with the special lice comb and my hair was really long and I was in tears becuase she threatened to cut it all off.

You can buy a comb and if you comb your hair with it it'll get lice out of your hair, if you have any. And there are shampoos that kill them.

Itching is the main symptom I think. I can't think of any others from the top of my head.

Lice.....the bane of my life a few years back2 girls....long hair....and an epidemic at the school,

Thank God for a boy this time....I keep his hair super short

Janie, get a piece of white paper and a really fine tooth comb

comb your hair over the bit of paper, and if you see any of the above little bastards you have them

When I was young, I got it and had to cut ALL My hair off. It was past my butt. We tried everything to get it out- even vinegar baths.. Now i cant eat vinegar because of it. LOL It scarred me. LOL

that stuff Kim said works good. My kids got it from school a few years ago. Make sure you get the bedding spray too.

oh....and you smother white hair conditioner all through your hair, leave it in...and comb them out.

It beats all the "products" on the market that nearly choke you....and most of the natural ones wont kill the eggs.

The conditioner sufffocates the live louse AND the eggs...but for some reason...it has to be white hair conditioner.

I've been dealing with the little mongrels on and off for 15 odd years now, and have found this works the best. GOod for your hair too

ok but can you really see them??

my friend said she never saw any on her head. i mean how well can you see them? do you need a magnifying glass?

i combed my hair last night when I got out the shower and I had some black things in the hair I pulled off my comb - but when I looked REALLY close they were just fuzz balls from the jacket I wore that day...or so I thought

you need a really fine tooth comb...a "normal" comb wont catch them and yes you can see them. They are about the size of a small ant I guess the adult ones. The eggs are MUCH harder to see
