I have been eating vegetarian for about a week now. I have also been pretty sick with a cold/sinus infection, so I haven't been eating a lot.
I have been taking a lot of medicine - Robitussin, Liquid Tylenol, etc. I also have insulin resistance which fucks with my blood sugar a lot. Last night I didn't eat dinner - I went to the movies with my mom and had a little bit of popcorn and drank a sprite. Then I went out and drank. (I know this was stupid in light of how sick I have been, but I was going with the flow and on the premise that I honestly didn't think I could feel much worse.) I only had two drinks over a period of four hours - but they were pretty strong. I felt fine until I got home and took a swig of vodka (I thought I would keep it going). All of a sudden my stomach felt like I had a brick in it, and then I was sick all night. I don't think it was regular Alcohol poisoning type sick, because I wasn't even drunk. Not at all. I had the chills, and extreme pain, etc. My stomach still feels like a large brick is in it and it is almost 5PM. So - was it my blood sugar, alcohol poisoning, drinking on an empty stomach - and is it exacerbated by the fact that I am now a vegetarian and didn't have much in the way of protein or carbs to absorb the alcohol? Thoughts? |
