I was dealing with the pain so I could just let my dentist pull it out...I do not want to go to the oral surgeon

I can deal with being awake and another plus is my ma-in-law will be there working on my teeth with him...but then again I don't want to hear them if they make a mistake
Ask if you can bring an ipod or something and put headphones on. They shouldn't get in the way.

EDIT: Nevermind. Should've read the whole thread.

Ok so I don't know exactly where to put this thread...this is mainly a dental question...when it comes to pain I deal with it and today I couldn't so you know this has to be bad....my mother-in-law is a dental asst so I called her and ended up and the dentist in so much pain I was bawling...She took an x-ray and evidently my wisdom tooth is absessed and unlike the rest of my straight teeth it has grown in completly sideways so its hurting the rest of my mouth and causing me to have an earache..the dentist numbed it and gave me a prescription for an antibiotic and pain meds(the strogest they can give someone and it doesn't even work)...the only way to get it out is in pieces..great huh?? I know alot of ppl get there wisdom teeth out but I want to know if anyone has had a sideways one...or am I just a freak of nature
Your definitely NOT a freak of nature. I have the joy of all 4 of mine being grown in crooked! The only nice thing is that they aren't bothering me yet.

My bottom ones were titled forward and pushing on the rest of my teeth to the point I couldn't eat so they had to take them out in pieces. My top ones they were able to pull with no problems.

My "I" teeth were laying up in my gums sideways so they had to pull my baby teeth, put pins in my "I" teeth (the "fangs"), and then pull them down gradually.

So, it happens.

I had a wisdom grow in sideways. Navy dentists crushed it and picked the pieces out. Cracked my jaw and it tilted one tooth sideways, which is still sideways. I blame the Navy dental program for the condition of a few of my back teeth now. I need some major shit done including a few pulled out and either implants or a bridge put in. I fawkin HATE dentists....

Okay, I just cringed like 3 times reading this thread. *cringes again*

I was lucky, mine all grew in correctly BUT one of them rotted and broke off into pieces. I thought the dentist was gonna crack my jaw when he tried to pull that one out. OUCH!!!

That sucks, Ashley...hope you get some relief soon.

Thanks Tasha!! The doc gave me vicodin so i'm floating!! See mine actually broke too, and got absessed which is now why i'm in pain I blame my dad he has crappy teeth..I finally get out of braces and my wisdom teeth decide to make me feel like I still have them The dentist gave me the option to either let him numb it and pull it or go to a oral surgeon and be asleep when they do it...I haven't figured out what I want to do yet...

Ooh, tough choice. If you can deal w/ hearing/seeing everything go on then I'd go for numbing and pulling. Oral surgery is a lot more difficult to heal from...but being knocked out and not knowing what the hell is going on could be a plus.

OOOOOHHH, you poor soul! I am alergic to dentists ( honest) ...and yes i had to have a crooked wisdom tooth removed, but they had to knock me out to do it! (Might have been because i was hyperventilating at the time)
But you have my sincere sympathy.
There is nothing worse than tooth and ear ache!!! x
